Ottawa County Christian Academy uses all A Beka Book curriculum. This curriculum has proven to be most effective among Christian educators, primarily because of its thoroughness and its simplicity. This curriculum, along with a degreed teacher, teaches our younger grades the fundamental building blocks to a great education.
OCCA also uses the curriculum’s master video program. Our philosophy is to teach traditionally as much as possible. However, to make the learning experience more thorough for the student, the video program is implemented on an as-needed basis. When implemented, each video is taught by a master teacher; and to better the experience, a teacher is always present to reinforce concepts and to address any student questions.
All students are expected to complete a minimum number of credits before graduation. Students must complete the core requirements in addition to a variety of elective courses. OCCA voluntarily follows the standards set forth by the Ohio Department of Education.
